Hansford Herald - 2025 Highlights
Greetings to one and all
Can't believe we are closing out this whirlwind year already! 2025 has seen lots of changes for the Hansford family.
Making up for not getting to the beach for a while, we made two visits to Manzanita this year. Brian and Elizabeth also road tripped to Colorado, and adventured around our region. This year continues job changes for everyone in the family too. Travel pics below after kid updates.
After graduation and his Italy adventure, Conner started full-time last year at Boeing Space where he had interned for two summers putting his mechanical engineering skills to good use. Alas, the space programs were cancelled in January of this year, but he was moved over to other areas within the company. Hope is that someday the space work will return but in the meantime he continues to work on different projects he's not at liberty to discuss with us. Much to Brian's dismay.
This year he moved into a new place in West Seattle too. Greatly reducing his commute time compared to the haul from Redmond, it also offers more to do and, of course, the advantage of being his own space. So, alas, our house is quite again...
This fall Benjamin started taking classes in a machining program at Bellingham Tech. Designed for working folks, he is able to complete lessons online and schedule lab/machining practice time in the mornings or evenings. This turned out to work GREAT for him as about 3-weeks after starting the program he got a new job as a machinist at Janicki. So, he's now juggle full-time work and classes. It's a lot to juggle and we are so proud of him.Fortunately, winter is a slower season for biking but continuing both his biking and doing trail work with the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition are still on the plate when the weather turns nice again. Hopefully he finds time for his photography too. If you have checked that out, visit his instagram.
So, Brian and Elizabeth both find themselves working to figure out what is next. Elizabeth left her job of 8-years in August with their latest round of layoffs. "Retirement" isn't on the horizon, so we'll have to see what 2026 brings. Hopefully more adventures!
Sending all the very best wishes for a
wonderful holiday and new year!
